Leewybranski

Lee Wybranski is one of the most renowned artists in the golf world, celebrated for his timeless posters and original artwork created for major championships. The goal of this project was to modernize his online storefront while preserving the classic, artistic personality that defines his brand. I was responsible for both design and development, ensuring the website felt warm, premium, and faithful to Lee’s legacy while delivering a smooth and intuitive shopping experience.

Since Lee’s artwork is highly visual and storytelling-driven, the challenge was to build a platform that let his illustrations shine while still functioning as a robust eCommerce system. I rethought the user flow, UI layout, and product presentation to showcase each piece of art in a gallery-like environment. The design uses clean spacing, warm tones, and minimalistic typography to complement the artwork rather than compete with it. The result is a site that feels like browsing through a curated archive of golf history, all while offering modern features like category browsing, carousel product sections, and tailored mobile responsiveness.

THE STORY

The project began with the goal of giving Lee’s brand a digital presence worthy of his reputation as an artist. His previous online structure lacked the clarity, visual hierarchy, and immersive feel that customers expect from a premium art store. By analyzing how visitors interacted with his collections and exploring the emotional connection fans have with golf history, I designed a system that feels both artistic and commercial. The homepage sets the tone immediately by featuring Lee in his studio, creating a direct connection between artist and customer. From there, the site guides visitors through curated sections, featured posters, categories, and collectible series, reflecting the same thoughtfulness that goes into each of Lee’s illustrations. The final design brings together storytelling, craftsmanship, and commerce in a way that authentically represents the brand.

APPROACH

My approach focused on blending artistry with usability. I developed a structure that allowed artwork to take center stage through large visuals, minimal UI framing, and elegant color choices. To support this, I implemented responsive grids, custom product modules, and a smooth scroll flow that gives the site a gallery-like feel. I optimized loading performance through image compression, smart lazy-loading, and refined CSS organization to ensure the site remained fast despite its visual richness. Additionally, I ensured the eCommerce experience remained seamless by simplifying navigation, refining call-to-actions, and making product discovery intuitive. The final result is a website that feels handcrafted, polished, and befitting of a world-class artist — while still being technically efficient and user-friendly.
