Contract Power
Unlike general-purpose AI tools, ContractPower was engineered to understand the complexities of renewable energy contracts — from PPAs and EPC agreements to interconnection documents, vendor contracts, and financing structures. The platform merges advanced extraction capabilities with a domain-optimized interface that helps energy organizations streamline compliance checks, eliminate manual review tasks, and reduce operational bottlenecks.
The system is built around predictability, security, and transparency. Every feature — from clause extraction to risk scoring — is designed to support teams that operate in heavily regulated, contract-heavy environments. With integrations across major storage platforms and SOC 2 Type 2 security standards, ContractPower provides renewable energy teams with a scalable way to manage documents at speed without compromising accuracy or safety.
THE STORY
Renewable energy organizations deal with some of the most complex documentation in the industrial and infrastructure sectors. Contracts are dense, highly technical, and vary drastically across jurisdictions and deal types. Legal teams, project managers, and compliance officers often lose countless hours manually reviewing documents to identify obligations, timelines, deliverables, and risk exposures. The founders of ContractPower came from both renewable energy development and software engineering. They experienced firsthand how traditional contract management tools failed in this domain — too generic, too broad, or completely unaware of the industry-specific terminology central to clean energy. They saw teams relying on spreadsheets, outdated PDFs, and manual processes to track crucial compliance items across thousands of pages. ContractPower was created to solve this. The mission was to build an intelligence layer that actually understands renewable energy deal structures. A system that doesn’t just read text, but accurately interprets the clauses that matter for asset lifecycle management, regulatory reporting, and contractual risk mitigation. By blending industry expertise with modern AI, ContractPower set out to give teams back their time, strengthen audit reliability, and reduce the friction of scaling clean energy projects.
APPROACH
Building ContractPower required a highly technical approach centered on domain modeling, workflow engineering, and enterprise-grade security. The core challenge was designing AI models capable of handling renewable energy’s contract diversity — PPAs, O&M contracts, land leases, tax equity agreements, interconnection documents, and construction contracts — each with different structures and legal nuances. The team developed a specialized training pipeline using industry data, expert-validated annotations, and targeted model refinement. This produced extraction engines that can identify compliance obligations, milestone deadlines, payment structures, and risk indicators far more precisely than generic LLMs. UX and workflow design were equally important. Energy professionals need clarity, not noise, so the interface was engineered around action-oriented organization: flagged compliance items, categorized risks, contract summaries, and traceable source references. The design ensures users can verify extracted content instantly and export structured data directly into existing processes. Security and infrastructure were built to enterprise standards from day one. ContractPower operates with SOC 2 Type 2 certification, GDPR compliance, role-based access, and encrypted storage. Integrations with Box, OneDrive, Google Drive, and SharePoint enable frictionless document intake without disrupting security protocols. The result is an AI platform that fits seamlessly into renewable energy operations — combining accuracy, safety, and practical workflow design to transform how the industry handles contract intelligence.
